PCFA brochure illustrations
September 24, 2014
Having your work energise an organisation like the PCFA was one of the highlights of doing this commission.
The work required a sensitive interpretation of real people affected by prostate cancer.
I think the integrity of depicting real people in support groups was the idea that inspired such a strong positive response from everyone in the organisation.
The freshness of the brochure's design by Thursday Design another very obvious key to the campaign's success.
Like most of my illustration commissions these days I filmed the process and produced a short film with a simple engaging narrative.
In this case making the video was a speculative decision, not being part of the original brief.
A use for the film eventuated with the launch of the PCFA 2014 Community Attitudes Survey at The Mint, a prestigous annexe to Parliament House in Macquarie Street, Sydney.
The video 'A Visual Diary' screened to the attendees and dignatories prior to speeches given by the CEO, Anthony Lowe and sponsors of the PCFA and capped off a brilliant night and a rewarding commission.
My thanks to Craig Johns of Thursday Design and Sarah Lowe of Cloud Consulting for their belief in my work.
